All about our Graphic Design A-Level course:
Students on this course will engage with a wide variety of technical and creative disciplines ranging from hand-drawn sketches to computer generated designs. You will be immersed in a wide variety of approaches to visual communication such as; posters, adverts, logos, album covers, t-shirts and motion graphics. The significance of typography will also be explored with an emphasis on how the careful combination of words and images can completely alter the reading of a text.
Distinctive modules include: - Illustration - Branding and typography - Digital and print design - Animation and special effects - Web and app design - Game design
How is this course assessed?
This course is 60% coursework unit and 40% exam unit. Both are internally assessed and externally moderated.
What about careers?
Progress onto higher education, university, foundation course or an apprenticeship. Future careers include: graphic designer, illustrator, print maker, interior and spatial designer, marketer and more.
