All about our Sociology A Level Linear Yr 1 course:
Sociology is a Social Science in which you will learn skills and subject knowledge relevant for a wide range of occupations linked to social and political issues.
There are unique enrichment opportunities at Monoux College with ‘Journey to Justice’. You will learn how to campaign for social justice and take part in an active social movement on issues that you care about.
How is this course assessed?
This is a two year linear A Level in which everything is assessed by exams at the end of the course - there are 3 exams.
What Enrichment activities support this course?
Take part in trips such as a visit to the University College London Sociology Conference. This year we launched the Colleges’ 'Journey to Justice' group where students decide on social issues, either local or global, that are of concern to them and they are supported in taking action on them during a six month period.
What about careers?
Future careers including, but not limited to: Government funded agencies such as The Economic and Social Research Council or The Equality and Human Rights Commission, Pressure groups such as the Runnymede Trust (Anti-Racism), International relations, Business management, Social policy and welfare, Education (teaching and management), Journalism and Social work.
