Course Details
A level Art is a practical, hands-on course for students who love making things and communicating ideas. Drawing is a crucial part of the course and it is a skill you will develop throughout your time studying art. You will look at a wide range of art and design, learning how to analyse and respond to the work of other artists through your own practical work including drawing, painting, printmaking, digital media, sculpture and photography.

How is this course assessed?
The course is 60% coursework unit and 40% exam unit. Both are internally assessed and externally moderated.

What are the entry requirements?
5 GCSEs at 5 and above. Higher entry requirements are required for those wishing to study 4 A Levels.

You will need Art GCSE at 5 or a portfolio.

– Practical and theoretical project on chosen subject, Practical investigation into theme set by exam board.
