Course Details
This course is ideal for students interested in pursuing acareer in the Health and Social Care sector, particularly in fields such as Nursing, Social Work, or Therapy. It offers a comprehensive introduction to the sector,covering a broad range of knowledge and practical skills through both coursework and examinations.
How is this course assessed?
The course will be based on 2 exam units and 2 coursework units – each year students will sit one exam and complete one piece of coursework.

Qualification – Health and Social care AAQ Pearson
Level – 3 (Equivalent to one A level).
What are the entry requirements?
A minimum of 5 grade4s and above, including a grade 4 in English and Math’s. Ideally a grade 5 in Science.
What are the modules and units?
– Human Lifespan and Development – PIES and factors affecting growth and development,interventions and the different professionals providing care and treatment.
– Human Biology and Health – Human body structure and systems, normal physiological functioning and the impact of common disorders.
– Health and Social Care Practice – Core principles,values and legislation that underpin and influence health and social care, and the effect of social determinants on an individual’s health status.
