Monoux College offers a wide and exciting range of Work Experience and Employability opportunities. These include work experience placements, Work Experience Projects, Industry Placements, Employer Talks and Workshops.

EMPLOYERS WHO TAKE THE PLEDGE ARE COMMITTING TO UNDERTAKE AT LEAST TWO OF THESE ACTIVITIES EACH YEAR:

  • Attend insights and careers fairs at our college.
  • Offer work / industry placements, internships, live or virtual projects and visits.
  • Take part in employer presentations, guest lectures, taster sessions or masterclasses.
  • Join our employer forums and networks.
  • Support employability skills workshops, cv preparation, mock interviews and application completion guidance.
  • Curriculum development and planning.
  • Host, attend or Judge awards and ceremonies for student recognition.

These opportunities are a vital part of our students’ time at college, and will give them an excellent opportunity to develop their employability skills, networking, and commercial awareness. The course our students choose to study will determine the length of work placement, and all students will take part in at least one aspect of Work Related Learning. The careers programme at Monoux College is designed to provide all students with the education, information, advice and guidance to help them make informed decisions about their future career decisions.

The programme aims to raise aspirations and support students to achieve their full potential whilst they are in college. Students benefit from a dedicated Careers & Employability team who have a breadth of experiences, and are based within college.

There is a focus on making all students aware of the opportunities that Apprenticeships, Employment and Higher Education has to offer. Strong links and partnerships with employers and universities provide the chance for students to experience a range of insight days, mentoring, university visits and work experience opportunities.
