Course Details
Students will learn about topics such as understanding the science sector such as understanding the science sector, further science knowledge, including cell cycle and cellular respiration, enzyme and protein structure, pathogens, classification of biological materials, kinetic changes and relevant analytical techniques. There will be multiple opportunities to engage with scientific methodology, gain insight to experimental equipment and techniques and explore ethics of science.

How is this course assessed?
Paper A is worth 34%
Paper B is worth 36%
Altogether examinations are worth 70%
ESP (project on work industry placement) is worth 30%

What is the Qualification?
Qualification – T Level
Level – 3 (equivalent to three A Levels)

What are the entry requirements?
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including GCSE English and Maths.

Students need GCSE 5 at Science.

What are the modules and units?
– Biological focus on diseases and infection. Including components included in critical bodily systems such as endocrine system.
– Looking at the characteristics of different study areas within genomics.
– The importance of epidemiology and its objectives to evaluate illnesses.

What about careers?
With assisted healthcare under Science T-Level the sector offers a wide range of clinical and diagnostic healthcare services. Students would be able to progress onto high demanding apprenticeships that include physicians associates, healthcare science assistance and services technicians. Alternatively you may apply for foundational years or bachelors degree at university. Professionals that can go into these services, include medical clinicians, NHS Trust providers, GP surgeries, commissioners, community practitioners and working at referral centres with private/independent companies.
